TRUE PULP MURDER is a 13x30-minute documentary series that examines real murder cases from the point of view of the detectives who investigated them with commentary from actual murder mystery authors.
Presented as a Graphic Novel in progress, each episode unfolds as a stylish, compelling story full of dramatic twists and turns, accentuated by re-enactments of the crimes, powerful illustrations, and representational details of forensic and physical evidence. The result is a suspenseful, exciting spin on the form with a decidedly pulp/noir bent.
Refreshingly ironic, darkly mysterious, and thrillingly real, TRUE PULP MURDER goes where no true crime documentary series has gone before. Each episode offers a complete graphic novelization of a true murder case with the police detective providing the play by play and the crime novelist offering color commentary on the action.
Featuring tragic victims and sinister, deranged, or sometimes sadly misguided killers, TRUE PULP MURDER pushes the boundaries and blurs the line between fact and fiction, getting inside the heads of the investigating detectives and the murderers they're pursuing. Full of pathos and emotion, the series explores the differences and similarities between real and fictional crimes.
